Angels and Men, Part 4 of 5

Scripture tells us that God will allow Satan and his angels to stir up ALL nations against Christianity twice during the Christian Age.

During the first of two world wide persecutions, the attack will begin on the church, and then spread to the Jews. MOST of the Jews, world wide, will be killed. Those who are left will turn in full faith to Jesus of Nazareth, the true Messiah of the Jews, and He will deliver those who are left, and turn them into the mightiest Christian nation this world has ever seen, or ever will see.

The results will be breathtaking. Not heaven. Not Jesus ruling from here on earth, but a nation turning fully and completely to the Lord of Glory. The Jews will bring great blessings on both themselves and on the entire world.

Angels and Men, Part 3 of 5

In fact, God has decided to subject ALL THINGS to mankind.

This was the original intention, even at first in the Garden of Eden.

Man is made, only for a little while, a little lower than the angels.

Angels and Men, Part 2 of 5

There is in fact a great deal of information about angels in Scripture. One of the most interesting things is that Satan is in fact a very powerful creature, but still just a creature.

Satan’s great power is discussed more than once in Scripture, but even so, Satan can only do what he is allowed to do.

The majority of angels are in fact good and obedient to God. However some evil angels, often called demons, have from time to time passed themselves off as “gods” to men.

Who Is This One Who Was To Come? Part 5 of 5

This One Who Was To Come, was to come as a sacrificial offering according to the prophet Isaiah!

This One was to suffer silently, and it says, not just in the New Testament, but also in the Old Testament that the Lord Our God was “pleased” to bruise or crush this One, to put Him to grief.

Then the Old Testament prophets say both that He will be murdered, and that He will yet live forever! Thus implying some sort of resurrection from the dead! Even in the Old Testament!

The Revelation of Isaiah, Isaiah 24, Part 5 of 5

Before the end of this present world, even though most miss it, the entire world will turn to the worship of Satan, and his special man, who also called “the beast” and “the man of lawlessness” and “the corpse” and “the abomination of desolation.” IT WILL BAD TIMES FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD, with the surviving Christians who will not worship the beast being protected in “the wilderness.”

But then Jesus will finally come to rescue His own, and bring Judgment on the universe.

So there is also joy among the Christians because they know their deliverance is near.

Prophecy, Knowing Changes Behavior, 7 of 15, Lot

Abram and Lot had parted ways. Their herds and their flocks had been too much for them to stay anywhere close to each other. Abram had given Lot the choice. The plain of the Jordan valley was what Lot chose. It was rich and fertile in those days of long ago. And Sodom, where was Sodom? No knows for sure for no trace of the city was left after God destroyed it. Many seem to think that it is now below the waters of the Dead Sea.

It was surely a good livelihood living there.
However, there were problems.

“Now the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinners against Yahweh.”
Gen 13:13

Finally God decided to destroy these wicked cities. When God made this decision known to Abraham it caused him to earnestly plea to God that these cities would be spared. Abraham knew some good men there. God finally agreed that if there were ten good men in Sodom, He would spare these cities, Gen 18:32.

Incredibly, Lot had NOT been morally infected by Sodom and Gomorrah.

Peter tells us of Lot,

“(for that righteous man dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day with seeing and hearing lawless deeds):”
2Pe 2:8

Peter calls Lot “righteous” twice, and “godly” once. Still, evidently these were still difficult things for Lot. He was told by the angels,

“for we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is grown great before Yahweh. Yahweh has sent us to destroy it.”
Gen 19:13

The angels says they are the ones who will destroy this place. Lot’s first response is to try to get his perspective sons-in-law to abandon Sodom for Yahweh was about to destroy it. Similarly, when we learn from God’s word that His is soon to destroy this place, that is, this universe, we will try to get those we care about to not stay under destruction, for,

“the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment;”
2Pe 2:9

Believing the message of future things changes us,
changes our actions.

If indeed we are convinced. Lot believed the message, but evidently it was still difficult, even as it is for us at times. After all, despite the wickedness, this was now his home, and all his possessions that he was about to abandon. So, though a righteous and godly man, it says,

“But he lingered; and the men laid hold on his hand, and on the hand of his wife, and on the hand of his two daughters, Yahweh being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city.”
Gen 19:16

The pull of our Babylons can be very hard on us.

We are warned,

… “Come out her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues,”
Rev 18:4

Believing what God says in prophecy should change behavior! It is an ethical matter.

The Kingdom of Glory: Satan is allowed a little power for a little while, 10 of 15

Evidently Satan was originally one of the most powerful creatures that was ever made by God. Angels in themselves are powerful creatures. Peter tells us that angels are “greater in might and power,” than men, 2Pe 2:11. When Paul speaks of Christ coming on the last day, it will be “when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,” 2Thes 1:7. Story after story speaks of them having power far beyond that which a man personally can wield.

And Satan’s power?

At first it seems Satan was both good and glorious. Evidently the King of Tyre in Ezekiel 28 is a type, symbolic, of Satan. As is common when there are types or symbols in Scripture, part of Ezekiel 28 applies to the ancient King of Tyre, and part applies to Satan himself. It says that he was in the garden of Eden, Ezek 28:13. However, the King of Tyre was further away from the garden of Eden than we are from the birth of Christ! It says of Satan,

“14 You were the anointed cherub who covers: and I set you, so that you were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.”
Ezek 28:14-15

So Satan was originally good and pure, as indeed you and I were before sin seized us. Satan originally one of the covering cherub that surrounded the very throne of God Himself in heaven, as pictured in Ezekiel 1, and Rev 4:6-8. That is to say that Satan was one of the most powerful creatures ever created! It says of him,

“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”
1Jn 5:19

Or again it describes Satan,

“in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.”
2Cor 4:4

So Satan is described as “the god of this world,” or a better translation would be “the god of this age,” which is still quite a description. Further Satan is clearly described here as being able to influence the minds of mere men, and is able to even blind us at times

In Job 1 Satan is able,

to make fire fall from heaven, influence groups of men to steal and kill, cause mighty winds to blow. In Job 2 Satan is able to cause debilitating diseases, and on and on it goes.

If a man has a particular weakness,
Satan is quick to exploit it.

With Judas it was evidently money.

Satan can influence or even enter us!

Jesus says to Peter, “” Get behind me, Satan!” Mtt 16:23

Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered with the twelve.”
Lk 22:3
